Corn, Parties and Pie: Recap

Pie. I think I have mentioned my favorite Russian Cabbage pie, today I was watching French Food At Home, and found similar tastes and textures in a much better dish! No pounds of butter, no processed pie shells. Instead it was a delicious mix of mushrooms, cooked in a gravy of stock and cranberry juice. Add tons of onions, garlic, and layer it off with potatoes. Of course the Russian pie is in its own place.......

So that was todays dish! Recap of everything post Pie!

Recap One, April 30, Corn,
sautéed with half a teaspoon of olive oil and black pepper. Quick, easy and tasty. Its a very versatile side dish. Along with this I tested pot stickers. I don't have much to say except that I used over two cups of oil and hated them. I will never make pot stickers ever again!

Recap Two, vegetable tray. This was prepared for May 1! I was giving a presentation regarding my topic for this project...simple as it looks. The cucumber sandwich's however are a little special. I found a fantastic recipe, it's essentially fail-proof. Loveeee this recipe.

Recap Three, in conjunction with this project I also had a dinner party. Essentially to make a few observations with teenagers and food. May 9 I invited over a few friends to eat the night away. The recipe's I prepared were chosen out of over 100. I picked them based on three things, ease of preparation, nutritional value, and time. The last factor, appeal, was a huge focus of my project. Now that I have a general idea of appeal I'll be fixing my recipes to include that!
